Old World Tuscan Charm
Rolling green hills, delicious food, amazing wine and Mona Lisa.
This gorgeous Renaissance villa is believed to be the birth of Mona Lisa – the actual woman that is pictured in Da Vinci’s painting. But whether that’s true or not, the villa with its manicured Italian gardens, delivers on its own.
Sat on top of a hill, in the heart of the Chianti region, the villa radiates romance, countryside luxury and old world charm. With its own organic vineyards, olive groves and vegetable gardens, and a world class restaurant, this venue is the full package for foodie couples who dream of a timeless look and a stylish, yet relaxed, outdoors celebration.
Does it sound like I’m writing an ad for the villa? That’s because I fell in love so hard with this place. I adored organising this wedding in such a gorgeous setting and it’s definitely one of my top 5 venues.
This was a 3-day destination wedding. The couple and their guests spent their extra time at the villa, horse riding, tasting wines, eating gorgeous food and relaxing at the spa.
All wedding festivities were held outdoors in the Italian Garden, with a midday ceremony set against a lavish floral arch. The vows were followed by drinks, countless cones of gelato and a traditional Tuscan buffet, in the lounge corner.
Later in the afternoon the reception continued with a family style dinner overlooking the Tuscan hills at sunset. Ripe fruit and delicious florals were spread across a naked table, elevated with vintage silverware and crystal glasses. The evening ended with dancing amid the sparkle of hundreds of fairy-lights and a chandelier hung from the trees.
